School-Based Oral Health Programs Operated by Health Centers

"Many Health Centers provide clinical services, including dental care, in school-based settings. Very little is known about the characteristics of these dental programs. This presentation describes findings from a NNOHA national survey of Health Center run school-based dental clinics. Based on survey data and focus group discussions, information is presented on program size, delivery models, services provided and finances. Operational best practices from successful programs will be shared. The implications of these findings for the future will be discussed as the next few years will see a significant expansion of health care services provided in schools."
