Today, Migrant Clinicians Network, the National Farm Medicine Center, and five other partners received an award [3] from the National Safety Council for their collaborative efforts in developing and implementing the Seguridad en las Lecherías: Immigrant Dairy Worker Health and Safety Project. To celebrate the award, MCN launched our Seguridad page [4], which offers a five-module bilingual curriculum to educate dairy workers on health and safety on the job, with bilingual, low literacy, and culturally appropriate training materials.
Yurany Ninco Sanchez, one of our 30 Clinicians Making a Difference, is an essential partner in the Seguridad project. As the the Community Outreach Trainer for the National Farm Medicine Center, Yurany Ninco Sanchez has visited over 50 dairy operations in Wisconsin and Minnesota, trialling the curriculum provided above, and testing out the promotor model of delivery of the curriculum.
