OVERVIEW

This presentation will include an overview of the organ procurement process and the current donor screening techniques. It will outline the current status of tuberculosis in transplantation and review the historical experience with donor-derived tuberculosis. Diagnosis and management of donor-derived tuberculosis will be covered.

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

• Describe the solid organ donor infection screening process
• Discuss the challenges of preventing donor-derived tuberculosis
• Understand the management of solid organ recipients at risk for donor-derived tuberculosis

TARGET AUDIENCE

The event is designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and field staff who are interested in a multidisciplinary and global approach toward the care and management of the patient infected with tuberculosis.
