Amy shared "Social Determinants of COVID-19 Mortality at the County Level [2].” The researchers’ findings suggest that “farmworkers may face unique risks of COVID-19 beyond issues of language, insurance, or economics, and that while their unique risk can be seen in higher absolute numbers of deaths, more farm workers in a county is not a major contributor to epidemic spread. Our finding that a higher percentage of non-English speaking households in a county is associated with a higher rate of deaths per 100,000 individuals does suggest that individuals who do not speak English may be at particularly high risk.”
