Five on Friday: Banning Chlorpyrifos & The Mental Health Crisis After Maria

Printer-friendly version

Five on Friday Banning Chlorpyrifos

Remember when school didn’t start until after Labor Day? Next week, some children will already be heading back to school. School start times were once dictated by the fields; for some agricultural worker families, it still is. It’s worth remembering that, as some kids settle back into school, thousands of other children will be moving with their mobile agricultural worker parents, picking up school wherever the harvest takes them. Other children will continue to work in the fields to support their families, and attempt to complete their scholastic duties on the side. The health needs of agricultural worker children are different than the overall population. Read more on our children’s health page.
