This month, Migrant Clinicians Network earned a 2019 Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the world’s largest and most trusted source of nonprofit data, on which donors rely to determine the efficacy of nonprofits.
By publishing progress metrics, MCN enables donors and constituents to better evaluate how we use our funds to move forward on our mission to create practical solutions at the intersection of vulnerability, migration, and health.
“MCN is dedicated to both quality and transparency,” noted Karen Mountain, MBA, MSN, RN, Chief Executive Officer of MCN. “We are proud of the innovative and outcomes-driven approach to our work and the care we take with the funding we receive.”
To earn the platinum seal, MCN released extensive information to its GuideStar profile page, including program details and progress, advanced financial information including IRS forms and revenue and expense data, awards, accreditations, affiliations, and organizational and board structure.
The platinum designation is the latest accolade for MCN from third-party nonprofit evaluators, adding to MCN’s 2019 Top-Rated award from GreatNonprofits. GreatNonprofits asks users to review their interactions with nonprofits. Dozens of clinicians and health care advocates have taken to GreatNonprofits to write about MCN’s work and its utility for their patients.
“MCN is a hardworking organization with a depth of clinical expertise,” Mountain said. “We are saving lives every day.”
