The University of California, Berkeley and Davis campuses are pleased to extend to you this Save the Date invitation for the launching event of the Migration and Health Research Center (MAHRC). The event will mark the beginning of a facet of multidisciplinary research aimed to improve the quality of life and eliminate health disparities of migrants living in California, the United States, and globally.
MAHRC conducts and promotes collaborative research and long-term linkages among U.S. universities, Latin American and other international research institutions, NGO’s, and local, state, and federal government entities. The research efforts seek to understand the causes of illness and injuries among migrants/immigrants, thus providing a basis for developing strategies and policies to reduce the onset of diseases and increase and improve health care delivery for affected populations. Dissemination of scientific results is targeted to academic, government, NGO and public audiences.
We look forward to your participation at the launch of Migration and Health Research Center. The kick-off event will be hosted at the University of California Center Sacramento. If you are planning to attend the event, please RSVP as soon as possible. Please contact Veronica Garcia at veronica.garcia@berkeley.edu (510-643-1291). A reception will follow the event.
