Harnessing Community Assets to Promote Sexual Health of Latino Immigrants

Printer-friendly version

Farmworker Justice invites you to a webinar featuring special guest Scott Rhodes, a researcher from Wake Forest University, who will be speaking about innovative HIV prevention programs for Latino communities in North Carolina.  In this webinar, Dr. Rhodes and Mr. Mario Downs, the project coordinator, will be talking about the HoMBReS project, a community-based HIV prevention program that partners with local Latino soccer teams to reduce HIV risk among adult Latino men.  This HIV prevention program, which harnesses the social networks of Latino soccer teams, was found successful in increasing condom use and HIV testing among heterosexually active Latino men.  It is currently being packaged for use by interested community organizations across the country.
