The Curry International Tuberculosis Center in Oakland, CA is pleased to announce our upcoming Tuberculosis Case Study Session, to be held May 30, 2013 in San Jose, CA at the DoubleTree by Hilton (following the CTCA Educational Conference). This training is designed for physicians and other licensed medical professionals who diagnose and treat tuberculosis (TB). The 1.25 hour training will use case studies and radiographs to illustrate challenges faced by TB clinicians. This training is approved for 1.25 Category 1 ACCME continuing education hours (CMEs)/nursing continuing education hours (CEs).
Everyone is welcome to attend and there will be no pre-registration. If you are already registered for the CTCA conference and/or Curry’s Perspectives on Partnerships in TB Control (May 31st), all that is required to receive units is that you sign-in just prior to the training and complete an evaluation form following the presentations. For those attendees not registered for CTCA, we will ask you to complete a brief application—please write us if you would like to have this in advance. As this is a CME-accredited session and curriculum will be reviewed prior to presentation, we will not be soliciting cases/films from participants. This training will be presented free of charge.
Session objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- apply appropriate diagnostic and management reasoning based on the appearance of radiographic findings in cases suspicious for tuberculosis, to improve overall case management.
- recognize radiographic manifestations of tuberculosis to improve clinical skills in tuberculosis diagnosis.
