Mariah Hennen, Paralegal

Bio:

Mariah Hennen is the Program Manager and Paralegal with Legal Action of Wisconsin’s Farmworker Project. Mariah leads statewide Farmworker Project by guiding Project priorities and operations, and engaging in creative high-impact advocacy, including through coordinating outreach and community engagement efforts. She also conducts farmworker intake and supports case management and litigation. Mariah joined the Farmworker Project in April 2018. Previously, Mariah worked with farmworker legal services in Michigan for several years. Mariah helps coordinate the national Non-Attorney Farmworker Advocate listserv and has given numerous presentations related to issues facing farmworkers. Mariah graduated from Kalamazoo College with degrees in Anthropology and International and Area Studies, specializing in Latin America. Mariah has lived and done research in Oaxaca, Mexico and is passionate about the intersections of food justice and immigration justice. Mariah firmly believes in the importance of working with migrants on initiatives that support their communities. Mariah is fluent in Spanish. When not working, Mariah enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors. Mariah is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
