In May 2005, near its beginning, the HepTalk Project presented a position paper, "Hepatitis Screening, Immunization and Testing for Mobile Populations and Immigrants from Latin America and the Caribbean" It has been updated with new immunization guidelines. This publication clarifies standard hepatitis immunization and testing recommendations for these populations.
HepQuick, also newly updated, incorporates specifics for mobile clients and recent immigrants from the position paper.

There is convincing evidence that breastfeeding provides substantial health benefits for children and adequate evidence that breastfeeding provides moderate health benefits for women. This link provides a summary of the 2008 recommendation of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) on counseling to promote breastfeeding.
HIV/AIDS and Farmworkers in the US
This paper reviews the available research on HIV/AIDS in the farmworker community, supplemented with relevant findings from research with related populations, i.e., Latino, rural, migrant. The research reported in this paper focuses on behavioral, social and cultural, and structural risk factors that affect this community, as well as on ways that health care providers can help reduce HIV/AIDS risk within this highly vulnerable group.

Developed by the Cambridge Advanced Practice Center for Emergency Preparedness, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. This sturdy and colorful brochure allows you to determine what language is spoken (15 choices); clinic signage included, as well as screening and treatment diagrams. The NYS Department of Health has also developed The POD Quick Card, which is similar in nature. The NYSDOH requests that you contact them for permission to adapt the Quick Card for any other use.

The US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants has recently posted 10 NEW health brochures on their website. All the brochures are available for download free of charge. Free Consumer Health Fact Sheets
For the first time, all Office on Women’s Health (OWH) consumer fact sheets are available in Spanish. OWH recently released 42 new Spanish-language publications on a range of topics including depression, generic drugs, heart disease, cosmetics, arthritis, mammography, HIV, and food safety. These easy-to-read fact sheets complement OWH's other Spanish language materials on diabetes, menopause, and safe medication use. OWH invites organizations and consumers to distribute these free publications to women and their families.

Breast and Cervical Cancer in Texas
The Breast and Cervical Cancer Services program (BCCS) offers clinical breast examinations, mammograms, pelvic examinations, and Pap tests throughout Texas at no or low-cost to eligible women. BCCS is partly funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP).
