The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) has partnered with over 220 leading healthcare associations to form the National Healthcare Career Network (NHCN). The network gives employers a better way to immediately connect with a wide array of health professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and mental health workers.

AHECs/HETCs
AHECs (Area Health Education Centers) and HETCs (Health Education Training Centers) have regional offices which provide community placements, service learning opportunities and clinical experiences for medical, dental, physician assistant, nursing, pharmacy and allied health students in rural and urban underserved communities. Programs also focus on recruitment, placement, and retention activities to address community and state health care workforce needs.

Voice members are clinic CEOs, Medical Directors, clinicians and allied health providers, CFOs, fundraisers, CIOs, operations and administrative staff, and more. There is no cost to join or use the Voice, and it is open to anyone concerned with community health.

HHS Announces $13.4 Million in Financial Assistance to Support Nurses, Resource
HHS Deputy Secretary Bill Corr today announced the release of $13.4 million for loan repayments to nurses who agree to practice in facilities with critical shortages and for schools of nursing to provide loans to students who will become nurse faculty. The funds were made available by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), signed Feb. 17, 2009, by President Obama.
