MNC Megan Danielson [Editor’s Note: Happy Birthday, Migrant Clinicians Network! To celebrate our 30th anniversary this month, we are highlighting one clinician each day who has been honored in 30 Clinicians Making a Difference, in which we profile the work of 30 diverse migrant clinicians from across the country and abroad.]

Tuesday was the annual International Day of the Midwife -- but this year seems... different, because midwifery seems more prominent in media than ever. Just last month, the royal couple delivered their second baby with two midwives. PBS’s critically-acclaimed Call the Midwife is in its fourth season. And, studies continue to pile up demonstrating that births with midwives have lower cesearian section rates, reduced use of analgesia during labor, and increased maternal satisfaction.

Megan Danielson, a certified nurse-midwife in Michigan, also made it to the news in the last month, for her honor as one clinician in 30 Clinicians Making a Difference. Her local newspaper took notice of the honor, adding to the lengthy list of midwife-related media this month. Congratulations, Megan Danielson! Be sure to check out her complete profile, here.

Help us honor the work of Megan Danielson by sharing her profile. And, make sure to check out the profiles of all 30 clinicians at the 30 Clinicians Making a Difference webpage.
