MCN’s offices are closed today. Although we’re taking a much-needed rest during our three-day weekend, we still keep up with the latest in health justice for the underserved. Here are a few pieces that caught our eyes this week.
Claire shared this eye-opener on how small coffee farmers are abandoning their struggling crops: “Central American Farmers Head to the US, Fleeing Climate Change.”
Amy sent along this Fair Warning piece, “Job-Related Falls Should Be Easy to Prevent, But Workers Are Still Dying in Record Numbers.”
Alma recommended a piece featuring a cello: “Yo-Yo Ma on the importance of telling each other our stories.”
Amy also shared, “Migrant child died after release from detention, attorneys group alleges.”
Alma also shared, “Facing Escalating Workplace Violence, Hospital Employees Have Had Enough.”
Jillian sent around the announcement of the 14th Summer Institute on Migration and Global Health in Berkeley, CA in July.
Have a safe and healthy weekend.
