Another very busy week here at MCN! We always find a moment or two to share pieces that we think are relevant to our work. Here are a few that you might find useful as well.
Amy shared, “The Mental Health Crisis Hidden Behind Your Grocery Store Vegetables,” which features Javier Rosado, PhD.
Candace: “This article about health care in Nigerian camps for internally displaced people made me think of our discussion yesterday about thinking about migrant health globally. I hope you are able to access it for the stunning photos, if nothing else.”
Candace also shared an article from The Hill, with a perspective that is familiar around the MCN hallways: “To end tuberculosis, we must invest in a more streamlined approach.”
Amy also shared, “Migrant child died after release from detention, attorneys group alleges.”
Del shared the news that MCN Board Member Marc Schenker received the Journal of Agromedicine’s 2019 Leader in the Field award!
Del also shared this article about the Respite Center, where MCN’s Board Chair, Marsha Griffin, MD, has been involved for years: “McAllen orders Catholic Charities to vacate immigrant respite center.”
Have a safe and healthy weekend.
