Friday is here again! We had another very full week here at Migrant Clinicians Network. Here are some updates from the world of public health and health justice that we thought you’d enjoy, chosen by MCN staff members.
Amy shared the disturbing report from ProPublica: “Agonizing Lag in Coronavirus Research Puts Pregnant Women and Babies at Risk.”
Amy also shared a report on new research: “Certain pesticides linked to kidney cancer in agricultural workers.”
Kaethe said, “Still many gaps in the data but what there is shows massive racial disparities,” in this New York Times article, “The Fullest Look Yet at the Racial Inequity of Coronavirus.”
Amy also shared, “Migrant child died after release from detention, attorneys group alleges.”
Amy shared this video talking about the need to protect food workers in Maryland from COVID-19. It features Earl Dotter’s photos and Amy and our many colleagues calling for an Emergency Order.
Del shared the American Immigration Council’s state by state fact sheets on immigration to “challenge misinformation that often dominates the political and public debate around immigration.”
Have a safe and healthy weekend.
