Five on Friday: Workers at the Border Receive Vaccines

The heat of summer continues. Many farmworkers are starting their days hours before the rest of us rise, to avoid the hottest hours of the day. Their hard work is bringing us our summer favorites. The ACLU, along with the Jewish Family Service, posted a statement on the review of an incident in which an asylum-seeking woman in detention was forced to give birth in the hielera.

The CDC issued a statement on the dangers of venomous snakes for outdoor workers, which they call a neglected hazard.

The Guardian ran an article chronicling Latinx dairy workers in Wisconsin, entitled, “‘It’s Five Years Since a White Person Applied’: the Immigrant Workforce Milking America’s Cows.”

Karen shared an article that lines out migration patterns as well as discusses Title 42: “As migrants arrive from more nations, their paths to U.S. border diverge, new data show.”
