Here on Five on Friday, we try to share a diversity of resources from the many members of the MCN staff who share what they're finding useful. This week, Alma Galván shared three exceptional and useful videos this week -- but we can't have her hogging our Five on Friday. What to do? We've joined Alma's recommendations together into one recommendation, but we know you're not fooled. So, here it is, technically our Seven on Friday for the week. Enjoy!
Alma Galván shared an hour-long special from the Twin Cities NPR on vaccine hesitancy and the clinicians and community advocates working to overcome it, Trusted Messenger. She later forwarded on a piece from Vice en Español that is worth the watch, La desinformación sobre la pandemia en redes sociales. Her final recommendation (another one too good not to share!) is from our partners at NRC-RIM and NCHF, Los Que Me Importan.
Alma’s pieces complement Amy’s offering for the week, a public radio segment. How Vermont Has Vaccinated Its Farm Workers
Robert forwarded on a piece on new research that is determining whether a lack of sleep may be contributing to farm injuries. Project Collecting Eye-Opening Data to Aid Sleep for Farmers, Ranchers
Karen shared this update, after a major blow earlier this month that tossed out a provision that would have given access to green cards to eligible immigrants like farmworkers and Dreamers. Democrats Pitch Parliamentarian on Immigration Plan B
Weekly Win: Kaethe celebrated the announcement that we hope will inspire other universities to follow suit: Bates College Selected for Initiative to Increase Enrollment of Low-Income Students and Undocumented Immigrants
Have a safe and healthy weekend!
