Exploring How Knowledge of Legal Rights Impacts Health Care Access among Immigrant Communities

Printer-friendly version

Health care and immigration are leading national issues with community-level implications. According to Health Outreach Partners’ (HOP) National Needs Assessment on Farmworker Health Outreach (2010), many farmworker focus group participants highlighted the urgent need for legal rights education. During this call, HOP’s Experience Panel will examine techniques and special considerations for delivering legal rights education and information to immigrant communities. We will also explore the connection between legal rights education initiatives and health care access in a climate where public discourse often associates immigrants with overburdened public health insurance programs.
