The Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provides comprehensive health insurance for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) kids. Along with Medicaid, CHIP covers about 25 percent of AAPI kids nationwide, and allows health centers and other pediatric providers to serve patients with flexible and kid-focused care. Additionally, in some states, CHIP covers Lawful Permanent Resident children under the 5-year bar, allowing for essential access for immigrant families. AAPCHO member health centers rely on CHIP to help provide for the needs of patients. Unfortunately, CHIP funding has expired and Congress is weighing the future of this important program. Join us for this webinar to learn more about the CHIP program, the immigrant access provisions, and how to advocate for CHIP continued funding.
