The stories of unaccompanied children crossing the US/Mexico border have faded some from the headlines but not from the hearts and minds of caring clinicians. Marsha Griffin, MD, offers a stark reminder as she recounts experiences of some of these children in Doctors With Borders.
Dr. Griffin is a pediatrician at Brownsville Community Health Center in Brownsville, TX, and lead author of “Children’s Lives on the Border” with co-authors Minnette Son and Eliot Shapleigh. It was published in April 2014 in Pediatrics (published online April 7, 2014; DOI: 10.1542/peds.2013-2813).
