Farmworker Justice Presents: The Southern HIV/AIDS Strategy Initiative (“SASI”): Focusing White House Attention on the H
In this webinar you will learn about what the HIV/AIDS epidemic looks like in the Southeastern United States, who is affected, and concrete steps you can take to make a difference. Southern states have seen a dramatic influx of new Latino residents in recent years. These new immigrants are frequently isolated from healthcare systems. It is therefore imperative that we as providers inform and engage policymakers and encourage them to allocate resources for HIV/AIDS in the communities that are most affected. The Webinar will address the formation of the Southern HIV/AIDS Strategy Initiative (“SASI”), the research pulled together by SASI on the southern epidemic, and the advocacy steps currently underway to focus federal attention on the South.Questions? email Dagan Bayliss at dbayliss@farmworkerjustice.org
