Dina Gonzalez

Dina Ester González (she/her) was born and raised in Diriamba, Nicaragua. At twelve years of age, her family moved to San Pedro Sula in northern Honduras. There, she married a pastor with whom she has formed a beautiful family. They have had the opportunity to work as pastors and missionaries in different parts of Honduras, Mexico and on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware. With Safe Americorps under the Telamon corporation, González trained agricultural workers on protection from pesticides and heat stress on farms in Maryland and Delaware. She then worked for the Wicomico Health Department in the Susan Komen Program, training Hispanic women in the area of early detection and awareness of breast and cervical cancer. After two years, she returned to the Telamon corporation where she had the opportunity to work for six years in the Housing & Financial Empowerment and Workforce & Career Services Programs. For the past six years, Dina has worked especially with migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families, visiting Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia farms.

Dina Ester González, nació y paso su niñez en Diriamba, Nicaragua, su padre traslado a la familia hacia San Pedro Sula en el norte de Honduras, ahí contrajo matrimonio con un pastor con quien ha formado una hermosa familia, han tenido la oportunidad de Servir a Dios en diferentes partes de Honduras, México y en el Eastern Shore de Maryland y Delaware, Dina tuvo la oportunidad de trabajar para Safe Americorps bajo la corporación Telamon, y recorrió las fincas agrícolas de los estados de Maryland y Delaware dando entrenamientos sobre la protección de los pesticidas y el calor. También con las capacitaciones de OSHA, después de dos años, aprovechó la oportunidad de trabajar para el Wicomico Health Department en el Programa Susan Komen dando capacitación a las mujeres hispanas del área en la detección temprana y conocimiento del cáncer seno y cervical, después de dos años regreso a la corporación Telamon donde tuvo la oportunidad de trabajar por seis años en donde sirvió en los programas de Housing & Financial Empowerment y en el de Workforce & Career Services. Durante los últimos seis años, Dina a trabajado especialmente con los trabajadores agrícolas migrantes y seasonal y sus familias, a recorrido las fincas Maryland, Delaware y parte de Virginia.
