Open Enrollment Lessons Learned And Strategies Moving Forward
On October 1st, 2013, open enrollment into the new health insurance marketplaces under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) began, signaling one of the biggest changes in decades to our health care system. The new marketplaces are projected to increase the quality, availability, and affordability of private and public health insurance to 44 million uninsured individuals in the U.S. Community health centers (CHCs) play a significant role in ensuring that underserved populations are not being left out. To do this, many CHCs received additional funding to outreach to, educate, and enroll their priority populations in public and private healthinsurance options.
The purpose of this webinar is to share challenges experienced by CHCs and provide strategies around successful outreach and enrollment activities to date. Topics include:
1. Outreach and enrollment overview and the role of CHCs
2. The state of outreach and enrollment activities at CHCs
3. Greatest challenges and successes in outreach and enrollment
4. Key strategies for reaching underserved populations
5. Moving forward with open enrollment.
