Press Release: Work. Respect. Dignity. Shared Images and Stories of Maryland's Eastern Shore Immigrants

A photo exhibit at Salisbury University’s Downtown Art Gallery depicts the lives, work, and stories of immigrants on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.  An exhibit reception and panel discussion on September 18 will include an immigrant who is featured in the images and experts in photojournalism, cultural studies, immigration and migrant health.

Bilingual Picture Dictionary

MCN's Bilingual Picture Dictionary, "Seguridad en Palabras/ Safety in Words," illustrates work place hazards and best practices for health and safety in agriculture.  Developed with support from the OSHA Susan Harwood Grant Program, this resource will bolster Hispanic workers' English vocabulary and will help prevent agricultural injuries.

The second part offers resources for clients from Central America who speak languages other than Spanish, such as the indigenous Mixteco. Though the study was completed in Eastern North Carolina, the resource list presented is national in scope and very broad.
