AHECs/HETCs
AHECs (Area Health Education Centers) and HETCs (Health Education Training Centers) have regional offices which provide community placements, service learning opportunities and clinical experiences for medical, dental, physician assistant, nursing, pharmacy and allied health students in rural and urban underserved communities. Programs also focus on recruitment, placement, and retention activities to address community and state health care workforce needs.
National Health Service Corps Educational Program
For Clinical and Community Issues in Primary Care. Through experiential learning, problem-solving and interactive exercises, the 15 online modules help current and future clinicians begin to understand contemporary practice settings, cross-cultural issues and disease patterns.
Nursing Scholarship Program
Program pays tuition, required fees, other reasonable costs and a monthly stipend. Preference is given to qualified applicants with the greatest financial need who are enrolled full-time in an undergraduate nursing program.
